Tyra Soosay

Tyra Soosay is an Associate at Sternat Manaigre Law Corporation. She is a Whitesands and Deline First Nations member and was admitted to the Manitoba Bar in 2023. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Native Studies and Sociology from the University of Manitoba in 2014. Before receiving her Juris Doctor, Tyra built a diverse professional skill set to address First Nations concerns throughout western Canada.

Tyra graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2022, finishing her law degree at Peter A. Allard School of Law with a specialization in Indigenous Legal Studies. In her third year of law school, she served as a Student Clinician at the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic, providing pro-bono legal services to the Indigenous community, providing advice, assistance, and representation on legal issues that fall under the jurisdiction of the British Columbia provincial courts. 

After graduating from law school, Tyra completed her articles with the Manitoba Department of Justice, Legal Services Branch in 2023.

Tyra practices in all aspects of Family Law, including Child Protection and Real Estate. She is a Notary Public in the Province of Manitoba. Tyra practices out of the Sternat Manaigre Law office at 211 Bannatyne Ave.

Tyra is a loving mother of two children whom she credits with honing her diligent work ethic and compassionate demeanour. She has turned her energy towards supporting families by providing guidance and helping them navigate the legal system while empowering them to have a voice throughout the process. In her personal time, Tyra enjoys CrossFit, the powwow trail, and spending time with her family.
